Located on Pier 40 in Hudson River Park, you will discover a place that you may never want to leave. Trapeze School New York.
A few years back my mom, her friend, her daughter, and I went to New York to a Trapeze School. At first I was nerovus. I had never done this before, so I had no idea what this experience would be like. As I climbed up the ladder, I could tell by all the safety nets and ropes that they were very concerned about your safety which made me feel a lot better. One of the workers at the top of the platform helped me prepare for everything.
Step 1: Chalk your hands.
Step 2: Grasp the bar with a firm grip (the pull of gravity makes it feel like you are going to fall forward)
Step 3: Jump off the platform until you hear the certain signals of what to do
All of this information flooded my head but I was almost positive this was going to be easy. The instructor at the bottom yelled “1,2,3 Jump!” As I jumped off the platform, I went flying through the air. Next I had to lift my legs on top of the bar and let my arms go. The experience was so thrilling, I didn’t want it to end!
New York Trapeze School is a great place for teens to go to have some fun. You don’t need any experience what so ever and I would most definitely recommend this place. Also, at night its a lot more fun because since its dark out, they have everything lit up so its really cool. It costs just a little more for the night lessons so if your thinking about trying this, I would spend the extra money and go at night. It makes all the difference!
