Dorney Park, Allentown PA

- Elaine

Many amusement parks and water parks are having great deals this summer, so its time to take advantage of these reduced prices and have fun. One park in particular, Dorney Park, has a great deal that helps you save $8.74 per ticket when you buy 4 or more, so it’s perfect to go for a day trip with your friends. Located in Allentown, Pennyslvania, Dorney Park has an amusement park and a water park.

There are about 8 thriller rides in Dorney Park that are perfect for adventure seekers, and these include Hydra, Steel Force, Talon, and more. Hydra is the first and only floorless roller coaster in Pennsylvania that flips riders upside down when they leave the station and has more than a half-mile of track. Steel Force is the first roller coaster on the East Coast to break the 200-foot barrier. It has a 205-foot drop, two tunnels, and it reaches speeds of 75 miles per hour! Talon, which sounds like the most exciting one to me, is the tallest and longest inverted roller coaster in the Northeast. It has four inversions that loop you around into a zero-gravity roll, a corkscrew, and more.

The Waterpark at Dorney Park (called Wild Water Kingdom) is really cool, too. This waterpark has 18 rides and slides for kids of all ages, and provides a variety of each to keep everyone happy. There is a lazy river-type thing (called the Wildwater River), a wavepool ( aka Wildwater Cove, which was HUGE!) and body slides, tube slides, and racer slides that provide hours of fun for anyone who goes.

I highly recommend you visit Dorney Park this summer while the weather is hot and the deals are around, so you can enjoy a fun time with your family and friends without emptying out your wallet.
