Holidays in the City That Never Sleeps

- Alexis

We all know that New York City is one of the most well known cities in the world and definitely one of the busiest during the holidays. Many people from around the country come to visit NYC during this festive time of the year. Some of the most famous attractions around this time of year is the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree and Times Square on New Year’s Eve. I am fortunate enough to be able to take a trip into the city almost every year and spend New Years Eve at Times Square.

For the past couple of years, my family and I have taken a trip to New York to celebrate New Years which is approaching soon. We would always stay at the Le Parker Meridien which is a very modern hotel located on 119 W 56th ST. It is within walking distance of
Central Park, MOMA (Museum Of Modern Art), Carnegie Hall, Broadway theaters and Fifth Avenue’s famous shops. It was definitely convenient to be within a walking distance to these attractions since driving during this time of the year is too much of a hastle.

My dad had gotten us all tickets to go see two Broadway Plays including Fiddler on the Roof and The Producers which were both OK. Also, we went to the Wax Museum where I got my hand dipped in wax as a souvenir. But my favorite part of the trip was going to watch the ball drop at Times Square. The crowd starts forming in the beginning of the day so people can actually get a good view. Although my dad and I didn’t have a great view, we still were able to see a little and it was exciting being in the middle of the action.
As you can see, New York City is a great place to spend the holidays!
