Sock Monkey Nurtures Kiddie Karma

From the first day of our California Dreamin’ vacation, Ethan and Caroline hit it off. Might it have been because Ethan’s 17-year-old sister Alex gave Caroline her blessing by telling Ethan, “Caroline’s cool”? I tend to think it was more because of their “kiddie karma.” Each time Caroline and Ethan got together, it was like opening the door to a sunny day.

Caroline and Ethan really bonded the first night when they sat next to each other at the Trafalgar organized group dinner in San Francisco’s China town. At the end of this, they entertained us by displaying humorous, non-food uses of chop sticks. They especially bonded over Caroline’s well-loved and slightly torn “sock monkey” and loved to throw it around when they needed to blow off steam after a full day of sightseeing.
