Top 11 Family Friendly Boardwalks, Part 3 (#9-11)

- Ginny

Hello, I’m back with part three of the “Top 11 Family Friendly Boardwalks” series! Part one can be found here and part two can be found here.

9. Myrtle Beach, SC

Myrtle Beach extends for 60 miles along the South Carolina coast, famous for its pristine beaches. And there’s more than just sand — from 14th Avenue to 2nd Avenue Piers in Myrtle Beach is a 1.2-mile boardwalk. A cool aspect of this location is the boardwalk offers free nightly concerts, kids events, and fireworks in a series called “Hot Summer Nights“.

Hey, look! There’s a “Ripley’s Believe it or Not” museum

located within walking distance of the beach.

10. Long Beach Boardwalk, WA

I’ve always loved the beauty of the Pacific Ocean. And located near Seattle is the Long Beach Boardwalk, which is a walkway through grassy areas that offers informative displays, amazing views, and picnic areas. It’s also located very close to downtown Long Beach. And worried about the bathroom situation? There are facilities at both ends of the boardwalk.

11. Ocean City, MD

For those city-goers who also like the beach, the Ocean City Boardwalk is a perfect travel destination. This 3 mile boardwalk area is full of fun and history, it dates back to 1902! But of course, because it is in urban area, the beach is not super quiet during a hot and sunny day.

Thanks for reading, everyone! Hope this was helpful for the upcoming summer months.
