"the trusted voice of teens who travel"
October 7th, 2011
It’s that time of the year again — time for some Halloween festivities!
Sunday October 16th, beginning at 8:30 a.m. divers will be diving into the sea to create jack-o-lanterns during the Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest. Located in the Florida Keys, at mile marker 104.5, divers will meet at Amy Slate’s Amoray Dive Resort. Below the surface at a depth just above 30 feet, all there will be is: divers, their imagination, and their tools. The scenery? Colorful fish and a beautiful coral reef.
Carved pumpkins will be evaluated by experienced judges, who double as the crew of the Amoray Diver Dive boat. A diving trip for two will be awarded to the top three pumpkin sculptors. In order to participate all you need to do is pay the required $80 per certified diver of the two-tank, two location dive, including tanks, weights and snorkel equipment.
