Looking for a romantic place to enjoy Valentines day with your date, but tired of visiting the same locations annually? Change things up a little with a trip to one of the world’s most naturally enchanting destinations: The Grand Canyon. Although this isn’t as romantic a location as say, Paris, it is a charming getaway for couples in love with both each other and nature. Actually, Mother Nature might just be the match maker here since she’s left many signs of love — in the form of heart-shaped rocks and cactus — scattered all over the Canyon floor!
Start your Valentines Day out with a trip to one of the many beautiful art galleries on the North Rim of the canyon. One of the most renown is the Medicine Man Gallery, as it has a wide collection of entrancing Western paintings, graceful sculptures of cow-punching cowboys and old-time photographs. It also is a great place to buy a lovely memento of your stay.
If art studios bore you and your companion and you would prefer something a little more exciting, helicopter rides above the Canyon are a great way to experience the Grand Canyon with your sweetheart in an unforgettably romantic approach. Soaring as high as the famous condors is an amazing adventure in and of itself; but sharing it with someone close to you makes it even more special.
The Grand Canyon has many other activities especially for Valentine’s Day couples. For instance, the Crescent Moon Theater hosts a Valentine’s Day musical featuring talented local artists. This romantic experience costs only five dollars each and is only one of the many charming entertainments provided for a couple. You may also want to participant in the Valentine’s Day Centennial Train that travels from Williams, Arizona to the Grand Canyon, following a beautiful scenic route down to the canyon.
Finish off your trip with a wonderful candlelight dinner at El Tovars, a hotel, famous for its expertise in fine dining and service towards its patrons. Maybe you’ll decide to spend the night in one of their lovely rooms with a beautiful view of the canyon. No matter what you do, the charm of the Grand Canyon will make this Valentine’s Day one of the best of your life!
