"the trusted voice of teens who travel"

Happy New Year to all! It’s looking to be an adventure packed year in 2013 as Tauck Bridges is expanding its family travel offerings this year. “Mystical Peru” is a new 8 day journey highlighting Lima, Cusco, and Machu Picchu. You might ask, what’s so mystical about Peru? Tauck CEO Dan Mahar answers that question by saying why Peru is a great family destination.
“Peru has something to please everyone, from incredible history and culture, to fun outdoor activities, to rich culinary traditions. Our Bridges team has crafted an itinerary that choreographs all of these elements into a seamless experience that will please every generation,” said Mahar.
The adventure doesn’t look like it will slow down during the 8 day journey. Visits to a traditional market in Aguas Calientes, a weaving center, and a pottery studio to learn the art of bracelet weaving from local school children will expose visitors to the culture of Peru.Families will learn cool things such as playing the Peruvian pan flute and discovering the spiritual traditions from a local shaman.
Outdoor activities include a swim with sea lions during a private boat ride off the Peruvian coast, the chance to explore the Sacred Valley on either a horseback ride or rafting trip, and a guided nature walk in Cusco. Families will have the opportunity to sample Peruvian food:during a cooking class at a popular restaurant, in a chocolate making class at the Choco Museo, and at a private “pachamanca.” This is like a traditional barbecue where food is wrapped in banana leaves and then cooked over hot stones. Yum!
While you’ll have to wait until summer time to take advantage of this trip — the 8 day adventure departs in June, July and August – you can book it now and enjoy the build-up of excitement until then!
