"the trusted voice of teens who travel"
October 19th, 2013
Hi, I’m Briza and I am the new addition to Teen Travel Talk. I am so excited to be a part of the team! I am from California and I enjoy travelling. One day I hope to travel the world!
One of my family’s most recent trips was when we went on a Disney Cruise out of Los Angeles. The Disney Wonder was the name of our ship and this was my family’s first cruise. We sailed for seven days and called at the Mexican ports of Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta.
Some teenagers might think cruising would be boring and a Disney cruise would be too childish. However, I found out that you can actually enjoy yourself more on a cruise than on a trip by land, especially in the Disney fashion. There were so many places to go, each place having new and exciting games and activities to play. There is an all exclusive Teen Club, called Vibe. Here only 14-17 year olds can come hang out, swim at their exclusive teen pool, and make new friends.
There is also a preteen club, called Edge, where kids 11 through 14 can play games or hang out with their new friends. Some of the games that they have include video games, sports, competitive games, scavenger hunts, trivia, board games, etc.
Some of my favorite activities were the Disney version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, Family Feud, and the Amazing Race. The Amazing Race was a fun way to tour the ship because you were told clues and you had to find out the mystery first against other teams. The teams were made up of whoever you were with and complete strangers, which made it a fun way to interact with other guests on the ship. This also adds a little bit of competition throughout your cruise.
Cruising is the perfect opportunity to make some new friends from around the country or possibly the world. It’s really an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend going to a Disney Cruise and enjoying the time you get to make new friends.
