"the trusted voice of teens who travel"
January 27th, 2014
The Stratosphere is the largest building in Las Vegas. Like most iconic buildings in Vegas, it’s a hotel filled with lots of activities, including restaurants, casino, and pool.
The outdoor pool was my favorite. Located on the rooftop of the 8th floor, there’s a great view of the city and of the tower. The 67* weather with clear skies made laying outside inviting. In the photo below, we’re squinting because the sun is in our face (which we love in January) and the Stratosphere tower is behind us.
Since The Stratosphere is a large tower in the middle of the city, the view from the top offers a view of the city that you wouldn’t believe. Below is a photo as the sun begins to set.
Also at the top are a few thrill rides that guests can ride for at additional costs. The rides are very similar to amusement park rides, but because they are up at the top of the Stratosphere, the level of “thrill” definitely increases! We rode the “Big Shoot” (pictured below) which shot riders up 160 feet in the air at 45 miles an hour. Another great way to see even more of the city and FAAAR beyond. Warning: they might hear you scream at the bottom.
